Biography

Julia Freeman is from Kansas City, Missouri and received her BA from Roanoke College and attended the Kansas City Art Institute and the University of Helsinki, Finland. She is recently graduated in June 2007 from the University of Washington and received her MFA in fibers. She has recently had a solo exhibition at the Richard Hugo House Art in Seattle, and participated in a group exhibition at the Art Factory in Seoul, Korea, Arts Incubator in Kansas City, Missouri and the Port Angeles Sculpture Park in Port Angeles, Washington. She was nominated for the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Biennial Competition Award for 2008 and was a finalist in the Miami University Young Painters Competitions with juror Peter Plagens. She is represented by the Seattle Art Museum Gallery and is currently exhibiting at Clemson University in South Carolina.
