A Book of the Future: A Maze is a collaboration with Seattle-based writer Stacey Levine that was featured in an exhibtion at SOIL Gallery called "Loose Leaf." We created new works in response to each others’ previous work, conversations, and new interests. The topic of “book” was turned into the metaphor of a maze. Similar to a book, you enter a maze not knowing the ending. As a reader, you enter into this maze trusting the authors will guide you through.

"Freeman gives three-dimensional and darkly cartoonish ballast to Levine’s words, heightening their grand strangeness(feat!)."

A Book of the Future: A Maze
In place of words, small sculptural hieroglyphs were created as symbols that were to interpret the words meaning, texture and essence. Viewers walked through the maze and could "read" the sculptures synchronizing with the poem.
